Email Marketing Agency Auckland
Email marketing that keeps working between sends.
MEL plans, writes, designs and sends email campaigns, and builds the automations and flows behind them, for Auckland and New Zealand businesses. Connected to your website, your store and your paid ads.
Because most businesses already have the list. They just aren't using it.
Your customer list is the one marketing channel you own. No algorithm, no bidding war, no rented audience.
But email is usually the thing that slips. It goes out when there's a sale or a spare afternoon, nobody really owns it, and the automations that should be doing the quiet work were never set up.
MEL takes the whole channel off your plate: the monthly campaigns, and the system that keeps working between them.

The short answer
What is email marketing?
Email marketing is how a business stays in touch with the people who already know it: customers, past buyers, members and enquiries. It covers regular campaigns, such as newsletters, launches, offers and event invitations, and automated flows that send on their own, such as welcome series, abandoned cart reminders, post-purchase follow-ups and win-back emails.
At MEL, email marketing is run as a system rather than a series of one-off sends. We clean up the platform and list, build the core automations, then plan, write, design, build, send and review campaigns every month. Email is connected to your website, ecommerce store and paid ads, so the people your ads bring in are followed up properly, and your list can feed your ad audiences.

Who it is for
Email marketing support from MEL suits established businesses that have built a customer list and know it should be doing more. We work with hospitality groups, clinics and skincare brands, retail and ecommerce stores, trades and services, gifting businesses and industry bodies across New Zealand.
- Sitting on a list you barely email
- Only sending when there's a sale or an event
- No one internally who owns email
- Running a Shopify or WooCommerce store without proper cart emails
- Spending on ads with no follow-up behind them
- A platform that's grown messy over time
Some businesses need a clean-up and a monthly rhythm. Others need the full engine: campaigns, automations, segmentation and reporting. We recommend the right level after a short review, rather than selling the biggest package.

What moves
The outcomes we build towards.
A consistent send rhythm
Campaigns planned around your calendar, so email goes out on a steady rhythm instead of only when someone finds time.
Automations that sell while you don't
Welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase and win-back flows that run in the background and keep doing the work.
Email connected to your ads
Leads from paid campaigns get followed up, and your customer list feeds smarter Meta and Google audiences.
One owner for the channel
Strategy, copy, design, build, sending and reporting handled by one team, with a monthly review of what's working.
Capabilities
What MEL can bring around the table.
MEL can run email as a monthly retainer, or set up the foundation and automations as a one-off project. Most clients start with a clean-up and setup, then move into a monthly rhythm.
- 01
Platform clean-up and setup
Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Shopify Email and others. We tidy lists, tags, templates, sender settings and sign-up forms so the foundation is sound.
- 02
Monthly campaigns
Newsletters, launches, offers, events and seasonal campaigns. Planned, written, designed, built, tested and sent.
- 03
Automations and flows
Welcome series, abandoned cart and abandoned booking, post-purchase, review requests, birthdays and win-back flows.
- 04
Ecommerce email for Shopify and WooCommerce
Cart recovery, browse abandonment, product launches and post-purchase journeys that turn one-off buyers into repeat customers.
- 05
Email connected to paid marketing
Lead follow-up sequences for Meta and Google campaigns, customer audiences for ads, and consistent messaging across channels.
- 06
Segmentation and reporting
Sending the right message to the right people, and a monthly snapshot of opens, clicks, revenue and next-month recommendations.
Email shouldn't be the thing that slips.

How we work
Clear thinking first. The right work next.
Review
We look at your platform, list, current sends and automations, and recommend the right setup and monthly level. It starts with a free Email Health Check or a short Review call.
Set up
We clean up the platform, fix the foundations and build the core automations, so the system is ready before campaigns start.
Run
Every month we plan, write, design, build and send your campaigns, connected to what's happening in the business and your ads.
Improve
We review the results each month and adjust timing, content, segments and flows, so the channel gets stronger over time.
The best emails are the ones that keep working when you're not.

Useful answers
Questions businesses ask us.
What does an email marketing agency do?
An email marketing agency plans, writes, designs, builds and sends your email campaigns, and sets up the automated flows that send on their own. At MEL that also includes cleaning up your platform and list, connecting email to your website, store and paid ads, and reporting on what's working each month.
How much does email marketing cost in New Zealand?
It depends on how many campaigns you send and how much setup is needed. MEL's monthly email support starts from $750 + GST a month for one campaign, with setup projects from $850 + GST. Most established businesses start with a clean-up and setup, then a monthly rhythm of one to four campaigns.
How often should a business send marketing emails?
For most businesses, a steady rhythm of two to four emails a month works well, plus automated flows in the background. Consistency matters more than volume. Sending only when there's a sale trains your list to ignore you the rest of the time.
Do I need abandoned cart emails on Shopify?
If you sell online, yes. Abandoned cart emails remind people who added to cart but didn't check out, and they're usually the first automation worth building. Shopify's default reminder is a start, but a designed series of two or three emails, in your brand and well timed, tends to win back more sales.
What email automations should every business have?
Most businesses benefit from a welcome series for new subscribers, a post-purchase or post-visit follow-up, and a win-back flow for customers who've gone quiet. Online stores should add abandoned cart and browse abandonment. Hospitality and service businesses can use abandoned booking and birthday flows.
Mailchimp or Klaviyo: which is better?
Mailchimp suits many service, hospitality and membership businesses and is simple to run. Klaviyo is usually stronger for ecommerce, especially Shopify stores, because of its product data, segmentation and flows. We work in both and recommend based on how you sell, not a preference for one tool.
How does email marketing work with paid ads?
Ads bring in new people, and email turns them into customers. MEL builds follow-up sequences for leads from Meta and Google, uses your customer list to build lookalike and retargeting audiences, and keeps the message consistent from ad to inbox.
Can you work with our existing list and platform?
Yes. Most clients already have a list and a platform. We start with what you have, clean it up, and only recommend a platform change when it will make a real difference.
How do I know if my email marketing is working?
Start with our free Email Health Check. A few quick questions give you a score out of 100 and the three changes that would make the biggest difference. For clients, we report monthly on opens, clicks, revenue or enquiries, list growth and flow performance.
